Black children are over-represented in the care system, but are least likely to ever be adopted. They face disadvantage at so many points across the system.
This needs to change. We need to shine a light on the injustices that are at play within the very system that should be protecting and caring for the most vulnerable children in our society.
In November 2020, Home for Good launched an Open Letter calling on the Government to make racial disparity a core component of the upcoming Care Review in England.
In December 2020, we delivered the Open Letter, signed by 1500 individuals, including 76 church leaders who signed on behalf of their churches, representing an additional 20,000 people. We also were delighted to have the support of a number of key organisations within the sector.
The open letter has now closed.
