News from Home for Good: An exciting new opportunity for our Founder Krish Kandiah

Krish Kandiah accepts the role of Chair of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Leadership Board

For some time, we have been holding on to some wonderful news, which we are now delighted to be finally able to share with you. Our Founder Krish Kandiah has been offered the post of Chair of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Leadership Board in England, and will be taking up this role next year. We are so pleased for Krish!

The Adoption and Special Guardianship Leadership Board is a national board that has been jointly developed by the Department for Education and the local authority and voluntary adoption sectors. It plays a vital role in decision-making and driving improvements in adoption and special guardianship services in England, to ensure that all children and families are given the support they need to thrive.

Given the remit and integral position of the board, Krish will need to step back from his role at Home for Good at the end of this year to ensure there is no conflict of interest.

Taking on the leadership of this board is a significant and fantastic opportunity for Krish to influence and bring change at a very high level, and we know that he will be doing this with his heart for vulnerable children right at the centre. Combining this with his extensive experience and skillset, Krish is the ideal person to take up this position and we at Home for Good will be cheering him on at every step.

A word from Krish:
“It is a rollercoaster of emotions when a fostered child moves on to their permanent home - alongside the incredible excitement for their future there is always a sense of loss. I feel something similar now as I say goodbye to Home for Good and move on to this new role of Chair of the Adoption and Special Guardian Leadership Board, which is a tremendous privilege. Yet there's a sadness in leaving the charity I have helped to nurture over eight years.

"Together with you and churches throughout the UK, and all the staff, volunteers and supporters of Home for Good, we have come a very long way and seen God at work in many ways. I have every confidence in the brilliant Home for Good team and leave the vision in great hands. I am excited to see all that will be achieved for children in the years ahead through this amazing charity."

I am deeply grateful for everything Krish has invested in Home for Good over the years – we will miss him. I am so excited to be building on those foundations and leading us forward in the years to come and I am confident that with your continued support we will be able to do even more. With so many brilliant champions, churches and individuals, our fantastic team, all those who give so generously, and of course, our strong and faithful heavenly Father, I know that together we will find a home for every child who needs one.
