Our vision is to find a home for every child who needs one. We make this vision a reality by inspiring and equipping individuals, couples and families to step forward into fostering, adoption or supported lodgings. Through our carefully curated resources and content, training packages, events and services, our team provide information, answer questions and offer guidance at every step of journey. Home for Good is not an assessing agency; we signpost enquirers as they prepare for and apply to their local agency, trust or local authority and we journey with them through the process with encouragement and prayer. We are delighted to hold agreements with a number of local authorities and non-profit agencies across the UK.

We facilitate peer support through our network of volunteer Champions and support groups across the UK. We equip churches through resources and training to ensure that children, young people and families are drawn into communities of welcome, understanding and support. We also take the stories, experiences and wisdom of care-experienced children and the families who care for them to those in power across the UK to influence and improve policy and practice.

Our vision is built upon the theological understanding that vulnerable children are close to the heart of God, and that pursuing justice and caring for others is an act of our worship and discipleship. Our faith-rooted value means that we hold huge hope for the children and young people we work to find homes for; we see their value and potential. It leads us to walk alongside enquirers and foster carers, adoptive parents and supported lodgings hosts not only with helpful practical information, but with prayer.

We are open about our faith and believe that the Church has the power to make a difference, but we work in collaboration with other agencies, local authorities and other organisations – those who share our faith, those of other faiths and those with none – to achieve our vision of a home for every child who needs one.

We continue to be deeply encouraged at how much incredible support we receive from individuals, churches, businesses and grant-making trusts across the UK, each of whom are committed to finding homes for vulnerable children. Around 80% of our funding comes from these sources. The remaining 20% of our income is through agreements with local authorities and agencies with whom we hold agreements with to support their recruitment or foster carers, adoptive parents and supported lodgings hosts.

Our expenditure includes everything from staffing our busy enquiry line to creating new resources and training materials to inspire and equip the UK’s 50,000 churches. To read more about our finances, download our annual report here.
