In their last inspection, Adoption Matters were found to provide “highly effective services that consistently exceed the standards of good” and “contribute to significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people.” The report also highlights that "staff are passionate about their work and committed to providing the best service".
  • From their first enquiry through to adoption and beyond, Adoption Matters have friendly, skilled and experienced staff and managers to help adopters throughout their journey. Their Centre for Adoption Support and Therapy Service provides therapeutic support from a multi disciplinary team. They also offer ongoing support to adopted adults and birth families.
  • Adoption Matters have a rich faith heritage. Emanating from faith-based adoption agencies, Adoption Matters has strong links with many Dioceses across the country and their Presidents include The Rt. Revd. Mark Tanner, Bishop of Chester, The Rt. Revd. Julian Henderson and The Rt. Revd. Paul Butler, Bishop of Durham. As an organisation, they truly value the contribution that faith and faith communities can make, helping to ensure that children are welcomed into safe, loving and supportive homes.

Amy & Tom's story

Amy and Tom are both qualified teachers and Tom is a Parish Vicar.

“We looked around at a few different agencies, both local authority and voluntary agencies but it was from Adoption Matters that we got that sense of personalised support and the interest in us. It felt like our social worker was entirely in our corner and they didn’t have any agenda or priorities of their own, they were just solely focused on making the best match they could for both the children and also for us,” shared Tom.

Tom and Amy adopted their three daughters aged 2, 3 and 5 years old during the pandemic. The couple accessed adoption support pre and post-adoption and continue to access support for their family through our Centre for Adoption Support.
